Explosions Reported Across Gulf States Amid Rising Tensions
Reports have emerged of explosions in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, though there is currently no official confirmation regarding casualties.
Military Response and Air Defense
According to Reuters, air raid sirens were triggered in Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates activated its air defense systems in response to a missile threat. Witnesses in Doha, Qatar, also reported hearing blasts.
The BBC reports that the UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed their air defenses are “actively engaging” incoming missiles and drones. In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the Ministry clarified that the loud noises heard across the country are the result of ongoing operations to intercept these aerial threats.
“We urge citizens to remain calm and follow the safety and security instructions issued by the competent authorities,” UAE officials stated.
Mediation Efforts and Local Measures
In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, Pakistan has stepped in as a mediator, proposing a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
Meanwhile, authorities in Kuwait have issued a localized safety measure, advising residents to remain indoors between midnight and 6:00 AM.
